• WEST DAPTO

    • West Dapto Urban Release is a site of 3000 hectares located within a study area of 15km2 at the foothills of Illawarra Escarpment, NSW Australia. It is a highly visual and provides a backdrop to the Escarpment which has significant cultural and environmental value.

The site is sensitive to a range of environmental constraints including drainage associated with managing stormwater and ultimate receiving water to Lake Illawarra; threatened species (both flora and fauna); major transmission corridors, flood free access requirements, bushfire.

It has the capacity to deliver up to 25000 dwellings, employment, commercial centres and the rebirth of the Dapto Town Centre for high density development. As a consequence of this we are working on a major education campus as a landmark entry to one of the first planned stages of urban release.

West Dapto is envisaged to be a sustainable community, reducing its ecological footprint by providing its local carbon sink forests. This also recreates a desirable place in which to live.  It requires an innovative delivery of water and sewage infrastructure and ‘just in time’ infrastructure delivery.
